My thoughts on Shakespeare's words

  Reading "Macbeth" a play by William Shakespeare, say same things that's sometimes are hard to understand.  Here are same examples:



1.       Banquo says: Thou hast it now—King, Cawdor, Glamis, all/ As the weird women promised, and I fear/ Thou played’st most foully, for’t.
  
 Literal Interpretation: You have been them all now-King, Cawdor, Glamis; just like the witches had said and I'm afraid that you've achieved them all through foul ways, have you not.
  
 How I understand:  everything that that witches said to you had become true why do I have the feeling that you did something dirty.

2.       Macbeth says: They hailed him father to a line of kings./ Upon my head they placed a fruitless crown/ And put a barren scepter in my grip.
 
 Literal Interpretation: They had said Duncan would be a great father to a line of kings Yet now they place a crown upon my undeserving head and a plain scepter in my simple hands.

  How I understand: I didn't really understand that line.

3.       Lady Macbeth says: Naught’s had, all’s spent,/ Where our desire is got without content./ ‘Tis safer to be that which we destroy/ Than by destruction dwell in doubtful joy.

Literal Interpretation:  They got what they had desired but are still not content. It can be thought that it is better to be murdered than to be the murderer who lives his entire life with the guilt and anxiety.
 
 How I understand: it's better to get murder then having to commit the murderer and live all your life feeling guilty.
 

4.       Macbeth says: Better be with thee,/ Whom we, to gain our peace, have sent peace,/ Than on the torture of the mind to lie/ In restless ecstasy.


Literal Interpretation: We have sent Banquo to peace after killing him and now he doesn't have to worry about life and all its troubles.


How  I understand: now that we've killed Banquo I have nothing to worry about.

 5.       Macbeth says: I am in blood/ Stepped so far that, should I wade no more,/ Returning were as tedious as go o’er.
   
Literal Interpretation: I have already murdered so much that it would take to long to clear my conscience so I might as well continue with my murders.

  How I understand : since I've already murdered murder so much as might as well just continue  and murder everyone who stands in my way.

The masterpiece academy is wonderful lots of different and interesting topic, and each one teaches differently as well I find it interesting and one of my favorites was Jenessa topic I learn a lot and it was so interesting to me learn about bona 48, and how she learned about human emotions... Also the way she talked she was clear and loud.

BNW 15

  Just as  John  comes into the hallway, the shift-changes. The hall fills with hundreds of Delta twins who line up when an Alpha calls out that it is  soma  distribution time. John is suddenly overwhelmed with anger, and thinks that  soma  caused  Linda's  death. He shouts that  soma  is poison, and tells the Deltas to throw it away. Just the idea terrifies and angers the Deltas. Bernard  and  Helmholtz  get a phone call telling them what the  Savage  is doing. They hurry to the hospital. They arrive just as the Savage starts dropping  soma out the window, causing the Deltas to riot.  Helmholtz  shouts "Men at last!" and runs to help the Savage. The two fight off the Deltas and throw more  soma  out the window. When the police arrive, they spray  soma vapor into the air to quiet the Deltas. The police take  Helmholtz  and the  Savage  into custody.  Ber...
